The opportunity of a lifetime: work for ME!

February 4, 2009

My little corner of the Van Voorhis lab is about to expand again! We’re looking for a full-time entry-level research technician who can assist me with biochemical experiments (such as enzyme activity assays and thermal melt assays) designed to expedite the discovery of new drugs for malaria.

If you know of someone who might be interested in this position, please send them to the UW Employment website for further information. The opening to which I’m referring has a “Req #” of 51928.

The job does not require an interest in running, toddlers, or other topics discussed on this blog.

  1. Hi Greg,I follow your blog and find it entertaining. I am also looking for a job but I live near Sacramento, California and don't plan on moving. I have a BA in Physiology and a MS in Molecular Biology and about 15 years experience working in biotech, in industry and academia. I retired from working but with the stock market depression affecting my retirement portfolio I am now back to looking for work. Anyway, hope you find someone good. You sound like a good person to work for. The person would have no problem getting breaks to go running I assume!

  2. My friend would totally love that job. She got her degree in Microbiology about a year ago and is working in a lab right now on the East Coast…but she says she hates it. However, she doesn't want to give up the science thing.Too bad she isn't up for relocation.
