Congress must remove this deranged monster from office

I basically have nothing to add to the April 7th New York Times article by Katie Rogers titled With Threat to Wipe Out Iran’s Civilization, Trump’s Rhetoric Goes Beyond Bluster.

In academia we often spend lot of time arguing over word choice and meaning. In this case no such arguments are needed. When Trump posts, ““A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” he is threatening genocide, plain and simple.

As others have pointed out, even the “best=case” scenario — that Trump did not mean his post literally — should not be remotely acceptable to any American. Only a truly evil person would openly and blithely threaten an adversary with war crimes.

Republicans in Congress, you know what should be done. Now do it.
